Oh Lately

Oh lately. Where should I start. Miserable maybe. Tired. When it rains it pours, and we're in a definite storm, but I keep thinking that God never gives us more than we can handle. He apparently thinks we can handle more then I thought.

This is the second time we've all been sick since Christmas and then Daddy got his wisdom teeth taken out Friday too, and then Saturday Addison got a cough. It all went down hill from there.

Daddy, however, was quite interesting. There was definitely a lot of blood with taking wisdom teeth out. His swelling is finally starting to go down and he can start to eat again. Good news right? He was really starting to miss his morning Cinnamon Crunch.

A fun thing though, on a happier note, Lily has started talking. I was wondering when she was going to start trying to sound out words. She's always been a grunter and seemed to really enjoy talking to us that way because it wasn't really frustrating for her. Probably because we could understand all her grunts.

There's not just certain words she say it's anything. She tries to say them all. Slaughters most of them but she tries. Her little baby voice is just too cute. Her favorites are Peppa, Hi, and Bye. She will say hi all day long.

Here's some photo's to recap what we've been up to. I'm actually still sitting on the couch. Addison is finally up and doing some school work again, daddy is now on the couch with Lily but managed to start a load of dishes. We're slowly getting back to normal.

Back to hibernation mode. See you all soon!

New Years Resolutions

Every year I try and think of things that I need to change or things that I would like to try, but most of the time I never get around to them. Maybe because I've never really made a list to stick to. This year I'm doing it! I'm so excited to start this new year and maybe it can inspire some change because there's a lot of exciting things to come in 2014!
-Make more time for myself and get a relaxed feeling more often
-Learn to draw illustrated people
-Journal more
-Find a new book to fall in love with
-Open myself up to love and understanding
-Get my patience back
-Start singing in the car again to bring back those old feelings. When Russell and I had our very first date I sang like an idiot really loud in the car, and I can remember how much fun we had. He says it was one of those things that drew us together. I've lost it over the years. Even if I'm crap at it, I want to do i again ;)
-Become pregnant with baby #3 ;)
-Stick to a schedule (make one first)
-Stick to workout "losing weight" plan
-Eat healthier (give up my beloved Pepsi)
-Learn to have fun again
-Try and do something special for my family at least once a week
-Finish all collage classes with an A- or better :)
-Have my wife fall in love with me all over again.
For Addison
-Give her more one on one play time
-Do art more often. She loves to paint
-Go on a mommy/daughter date to go get some cookies
-Show her more often how much I love her
For Lily
-Always be there when she needs me. Even if I'm in the middle of something. Drop everything to just hold her.
-Teach her body parts. She's got the belly button and nose down pretty good!
-Go out exploring
-Take a mini vacation somewhere, often
-Spend a night watching movies, playing, and LAUGHING. We could always use more laughter.
-Always remember to communicate
-Work as a team to get things done
-Stick to a family budget (and do the 52 Week Money Challenge)
-Spend quality time together. Like 100% attention on whatever we're doing at the time.

Happy New Year!
Goodness... Happy 2014!!

all i want for christmas

Time with my family,
Time to breath,
Cookies to make Santa
and cookies to share together,
Never ending bath nights
and messes in the kitchen,
Piece of mind,
A little sanity,
a handful of Rolo's
and a cup of 8 o'clock coffee.

This holiday we are living simply and enjoying the time we get to spend together.
We've decorated our home with loads of Christmas lights, Snow Village, and sparkly ornaments!
And Elfie has made his way into our home for the second year now and causing all sorts of trouble around here! We've been quite busy keeping up with his shenanigans! ;)
